What the extension does

AI-CV Job Fit Checker lets you manually analyze a job description against a selected AI-CV CV variant. You choose the text by selecting visible page text and clicking Use selection, by pasting the job description into the popup, or by clicking Scan visible jobs in the side panel to preview visible job-list cards.

What we collect

• •Your AI-CV account and extension pairing token.
• •The selected CV variant used for job-fit scoring.
• •Job description text you explicitly select or paste.
• •Visible job-card previews you explicitly scan, including title, company, location, snippet, source host, and URL when visible.
• •Your side-panel feedback, such as opened, good-fit, and dismissed job cards.
• •The current page title, URL, and host when you analyze selected text.
• •Fit results and cached analysis metadata so repeat checks do not need to be regenerated.

What we do not collect

The extension does not run automatic content scripts, does not crawl job boards, does not read LinkedIn profiles, does not click buttons, does not submit applications, and does not modify job-board pages. It does not access microphone, camera, system audio, files on your computer, or browser history outside the tab you explicitly use. It does not save a job to your AI-CV account unless you click Save to AI-CV. The side panel does not scan in the background; visible job-card scans happen only after you click Scan visible jobs.

How we use the data

We use the selected or pasted job text and selected CV context to extract job requirements, compute a fit score, identify hard blockers, show matched and missing skills, and recommend whether to apply, tailor the CV first, research, or skip. Visible job-card previews are scored with deterministic matching and cached full analyses when available; they are intended as a first-pass filter before opening a full job description. We also use your saved job targets and side-panel feedback to improve preview ranking without sending each visible card to an AI model. If you choose to save the result, AI-CV creates a job posting in your account so you can generate a tailored CV from the saved job.

Third-party processing

AI-CV uses hosting, database, storage, and AI model providers to deliver the service. Job text and CV context may be sent to the configured AI model provider only to generate the requested job-fit analysis. We do not sell personal data and do not use this content for advertising or third-party tracking.

Your controls

• •Analyze only text you manually select or paste.
• •Scan visible job-list cards only when you click the side-panel scan button.
• •Mark scanned jobs as opened, good fit, or dismissed to tune future rankings.
• •Clear local popup text and the last result from extension storage.
• •Save only the jobs you decide are worth tracking or tailoring.
• •Log out or unpair the extension to remove the local extension token.

Retention and security

Extension pairing tokens are stored in Chrome extension storage on your device. Requests are sent to AI-CV over HTTPS. The popup may store the last pasted text and last analysis locally so you can reopen the popup without losing the result. AI-CV stores exact analysis results for your account to provide cached repeat checks.
